Cutest Baby In The World

Not much going on, but everything is exciting when your child is the cutest baby in the world :)

So, it’s super cute when he wears Mommy’s headband

Flashback Friday

This is what Luke and I looked like last mid to late July:

with former blogger Danielle... where have you been, Danielle?? I want to see those babies!

I believe this was at 37 weeks.

Luke earned the nickname "Wild Man" by the ultrasound tech very early in my pregnancy, and he definitely lived up to it all the way through. I couldn't do much of anything at this point because I was on strict bedrest, so I had plenty of time to lay on the couch and watch him roll and twist and turn all day!

11 Months

Where has this month gone??  Where has this year gone, for that matter!  Tomorrow Luke is one month away from being one year old.  For some reason the last week or so he seems to have grown a foot taller.  He just looks so big!  He’s still doing his super fast bear crawl, and is walking around the coffee table really well.  Today he walked all the way around it twice without sitting/falling down.

I've been terrible about taking pictures lately! I did really well on the 4th of July and I was so proud of myself, but since then... not so much! I would say giving kisses is the first major thing where I am blown away that he knows what we're saying and somehow figured out how to give kisses himself. It's so crazy to me that after all these months of me saying "give Mommy a kiss" when I go to kiss him, he now leans forward and gives me big sloppy baby love when I ask for it!

He is very vocal and sometimes just talks all day long.  I’m pretty sure the other day he said “boo” while Tommy and I were playing peek-a-boo with him.  We had both said boo a bunch of times, and then I think Luke said it!  Other than that (possible) boo, he pretty much sticks to mama and dada.

He’s still eating mostly formula and baby food, but I have started giving him “big people food.”  Today he ate some turkey, and he loves crackers and graham crackers.

He’s wearing a size 3 diaper, and 9-12 months clothes.  He loves his little walker toy.  Other than that, his favorite toy is… anything that is not a toy and he shouldn’t have.  I had to empty the coffee table drawers because he’s been pulling everything out of them and I don’t think they can be child proofed.  We have some pretty major child proofing to do.

Luke’s Fort and Leo’s Tree

A few months ago Amanda linked me to a blog where a woman talks about children’s books and does giveaways.  When Amanda sent me to the blog, the book that was being featured was called Leo’s Tree.  I thought the illustrations were beautiful, and from what I could see of the book it looked like a very sweet story.  But, the craziest part is I thought that Leo looked alot like Luke!  I had kind of forgotten about it and last weekend asked Amanda if she remembered what the name of the book was and she said she knew the name of the blog because she still follows it, but didn’t say much else.  Then, later in the week a package came for Luke Baldwin!  Guess what it was?  The book I asked Amanda about!  How thoughtful!  Oh, how we love her <3

am I totally crazy, or does baby Leo look a little like baby Luke?

Thanks Amanda!  We love the book!  The blog is becomingsarah.com and she does great reviews of books.

So, Luke’s new favorite place to play is pretty much under any table or chair.  His new spot is in the empty place in the entertainment center.

Baby’s First 4th!

We had such a great 4th of July weekend! I got two days off instead of just one for the first time in a month and a half and had a fabulous time with my family! Saturday night after work Lynsi came over and hung out with me while the boys were down the street watching the fight and we had a couple drinks and talked and relaxed and it was so nice! Sunday we headed to my Grandma's which is what I've done every year for as long as I can remember. Last year I didn't get to go anywhere for the fourth because I was put on bed rest on the 3rd. So, I was feeling very sentimental on Sunday seeing Luke playing with his other baby cousins and seeing the new generation run around just like we did as kids. It was just a great day with family and friends and made me feel so thankful for all of our blessings and our freedom!

playing with his favorite toys… leaves and a water bottle.

Luke just barely missed the fireworks. He went to my Mom's house around 8:30 because he was just completely exhausted. Tommy and I stayed at my Grandma's down on the beach at the bonfire until some ridiculous hour... I think we left around 3am. Yesterday morning we got up and went to IHOP for breakfast and then headed down to get the baby. My Dad wanted to go out on the boat. I was surprised because my Dad lost a very close friend this past week in a boating accident and I wasn't sure if he would want to go out on the water this summer.  But, we did and we had a great time and it was so relaxing. We stopped at one point and Tommy and I jumped in to cool off.

We got back to the house and headed home and played with the baby and had dinner and then headed to a softball field down the street to practice with Willie. Luke fell asleep on the way there, so Chrissie sat in the car with him (because she's pregnant, YAY!!!!!!!!!!) Tommy's family is thinking about starting a team for Fall Ball. It would be the same Charles County league he plays in now on Willie's team, but all of his cousins want to play so they're going to start a team. They have plenty of guys, but are short on girls, so I was testing out my skills to see if I would be comfortable playing because I haven't played in more than 10 years. I did okay hitting, I think with a little more practice I would be okay. But, I got out in the field while Tommy and Willie hit and didn't catch one ball. I would be running toward it and it would sail over my head :) I definitely need practice. But, it was SO HOT! It was miserable! I'm sure being out of shape made the heat way worse, but I was pouring sweat and just wanted some water! So, I'm still undecided. I definitely need practice before I would play, but I really don't feel like putting the time and effort into practicing, so I can't decide what to do.

Today was back to the grind and it was a busy day.  Luke is still up right now (8:30) and I’m pretty much spoiling him because his gums are SO swollen on the bottom and I know these teeth are giving him a terrible time and it’s making it hard for him to sleep.

I hope everyone enjoyed their 4th as much as we did.  Have a great week!
