Three Weeks Behind!

I can’t believe it’s been three weeks since I blogged!  Once I get behind it’s hard for me to get back in the swing of things.  I’m trying to think of what’s been going on… Okay, so the weekend of the 18th my family went to Ocean City.  We left straight from our softball games on Friday night (where I acquired a black eye that is still hanging around) and got there around 3am.  Saturday we went to the boardwalk and won 2,800 tickets in the arcade to win Luke this awesome fire truck.

It was so funny.  I had left the arcade and was just kind of strolling around with the baby and my Mom and my sisters were NOT coming out of the arcade.  I finally went back in to see what they were doing and they were frantically trying to get a hold of 800 more tickets to win it :)

There was a hair show in Ocean City so Sunday I was in class and then my sisters and Luke came and picked me up and we took a quick trip to the outlets.  We had to swing by the Steelers bar where Ryan and Tommy were watching the game, and everyone in there wanted to eat Luke up in his Steelers jersey!  Kind of odd to find a Steelers bar in Ocean City, but it’s tucked up in there and it was CRAZY in there.

And here he is showing that he knows where his feet are :)

Then, very early on Monday morning, at 2:06, Amanda had baby Andrea Jane!!!!!!!!  I kept assuring her that nobody has the baby on their due date and I would not be in Ocean City when she had the baby, but I was :(  So, Monday we got up and started packing and cleaning and headed out around noon.  We got home, dropped our stuff off, let the dog out and headed right over to visit them in Fredericksburg.

On the way there, Luke started saying his first non mama/dada word… BABY!  He said it over and over.  Once we got to Amanda’s room though… nothin’.

Luke was NOT happy.  Every time me or Tommy held the baby he would whine and reach out to us.

I can’t wait to see her again!!

Sunday we went to the St. Mary’s County fair to enter Luke in the baby contest, but we were too late for his age group :(  Oh well, I know he would have won :)  So, we just ate, watched the pig races, and went home.

Here’s Luke wearing an adorable little baseball hat that Lynsi crocheted

Isn’t she talented??  Here’s a little girl hat she made

If you’re interested in having something made, just let me know and I’ll get you her info.  She JUST started doing this and I think she’s doing so well!

Yesterday I let Luke feed himself his yogurt.  He definitely made a mess, but he was getting some in his mouth and I guess that’s all that matters

Jess missed Luke’s birthday party because she was out of town, so she came over today to visit and give Luke his birthday present.  She got him a tee ball set and a Toy Story ball and adorable clothes.  It was so great to catch up!

Steps!

I’m so far behind, I know.  Since Luke’s first birthday we’ve been just kind of laying low.  He is completely off bottles now and is on sippy cups all the time.  He’s eating all different foods, but definitely favors fruit and any kind of cracker or bread.  He isn’t crazy about meat or vegetables alot of the time.  I’m not sure if this is something I need to worry about now, or just ride it out and wait to see if it passes.  Last Friday we had our first softball games and the first game didn’t start until 8:30, already past Luke’s bedtime.  Elaine watched Luke allllll night at the ball field.  He finally fell asleep while she was walking him in his stroller until we finally left around 11:15.  Thanks so much Elaine!!!

Sunday we took Luke to the zoo for the first time.  He really didn’t care too much about what was going on.  Even the bright colorful animals and the ones who were very active didn’t do much for him.  We left around his naptime, thinking he would sleep the whole way up, but he only slept for about 20 minutes on the ride up, so I think he was pretty tired most of the time.  I have some pictures, but I’m pretty sure they’re on my small camera in Tommy’s car, so I’m not going to get them right now :)

bedhead- my very favorite thing  about Luke in the morning :)

Luke knows where his nose is!  When we ask him where’s your nose? he points right to it!  He’s also giving lots of sweet hugs and kisses, blowing plenty of kisses, and clucking his tongue alot.

But, on to the main news!  I mentioned that he took a couple of steps at his party.  A few days later he took a couple more.  Well, tonight he has taken 3-4 steps several times!
